SAHASRARA or Crown Chakra

This is called Sahasrara or the crown chakra. It is located at the top of the head, at the level of the fontanel. It is linked to the pineal gland and corresponds to the element of LIGHT.

It represents Knowledge of the divine part of us. It corresponds to our belief system, our vision of spirituality, to wisdom (knowledge of the universe), to the spiritual path and pure and magical intuition.

This chakra is located beyond space and time: it is the intermediary through which we connect to the Divine Essence. This is place when you feel "at ease", totally comfortable and secure. It’s the "place" where our personal bio-energetic field (the aura) can merge with the universal energy field. What we have previously understood on an intellectual level is elevated here to the level of perfect understanding.

With the application of the crown energy centre, the last blockages restricting the functioning of other chakras are cleared, and their energies can vibrate to maximum potential.

If this chakra is fully developed:

There’s no such thing as a blockage at the level of the 7th chakra, just varying degrees of development. If it’s functioning below speed, the universal cosmic energy cannot reinvigorate the physical body and the other chakras turn more slowly.
Inversely, at full-strength, it allows the divine consciousness to inspire the individual.

As soon as the crown chakra starts to open up, we have the increasing feeling that there is no real separation between your inner being and the outside world. Our consciousness is perfectly calm and open: in this meditative silence, perpetual mental discourse (inner dialogue) that usually fills the head ceases.

As it gradually opens, these moments become more and more frequent; they become clearer and clearer until their come to form the permanent reality.

If the other chakras are balanced and functioning in harmony with each other, Supreme Enlightenment may be achieved. From this moment onwards, evolution becomes an unstoppable force. As if you are emerging from a long dream, you enter ecstatic, magical and luxurious reality. When you want to know something, all you need to do is focus your attention on it and a solution will present itself, because everything is contained in the Divine Essence and you are at One with it and can access it freely and at will.

Consequences of an undeveloped crown chakra:

The opening and harmonisation of the chakras result in a profusion of knowledge, experience, and power. But unless the crown chakra is open, you will always be separated from the Divine Essence, which means you will never be completely free of fear. This fear is the reason for some chakra blockages; they cannot operate to the fullness of their potential because their energies are not vibrating in total harmony with the divine Intelligence and Wisdom.

Someone who, for one reason or another, cannot or will not open themselves up to spiritual truths ends up experiencing moments of uncertainty, doubt and may feel their life is directionless. They become aware of the absurdity of their life as it is, with the burgeoning fear of death that comes with it.

By trying to repress these gnawing ideas, they take refuge in frenetic activity, taking on new responsibilities designed to prove (to themselves) that they are indispensable, to fill an unpleasant ‘empty’ feeling, to give meaning to their life. This covers a need for more introspection, more balance between the inner and external lives. Sometimes it happens that they fall ill and, forced to rest, they have an opportunity to meditate on the true reasons for their ‘forced’ rest.

In summary, the crown chakra is under-developed, or not developed: if we have a dogmatic belief system, if we feel the need to believe blindly rather than to find out what works, if we feel separated from the Universe-God, if we think spirituality is annoying or even pointless.
